About CBD resins
CBD resin (also called CBD hash or CBD pollen) is a concentrate obtained from the trichomes (the resinous glands) of hemp flowers. It is pressed into compact blocks with a high concentration of CBD, usually between 10% and 30%.
Technically they are the same: both terms refer to pressed trichome concentrate. 'Hash' is the traditional name (from the Arabic word 'hashish'), 'resin' is the term most used in the European market and sounds more neutral commercially speaking.
CBD resin is sold in Spain exclusively as a collectible product or for aromatherapy. It is not intended for human consumption. If you use it as an aromatic, you can gently heat it with a burner to release its terpenes.
No. CBD is not psychoactive: it does not produce a 'high' or alterations in perception. CBD resin marketed in Spain contains less than 0.2% THC in the plant, well below the psychoactive threshold.
It varies greatly depending on the production method and quality. Mid-range resins usually contain between 10% and 18% CBD. Premium ones (cleaner extraction, higher trichome content) can reach 25-30%. Always check the certificate of analysis.
To maintain its aromatic properties, store it in an airtight container, in a cool, dry place, protected from light. The ideal temperature is between 15 and 21°C. Avoid humidity to prevent mold and direct light to prevent terpene degradation.
The marketing of hemp resin is allowed provided that it comes from industrial varieties registered in the EU and contains less than 0.2% THC. However, it must be clearly sold as a collectible or aromatic product, never for human consumption.
As an aromatic product, it releases hemp terpenes, with earthy, citrus, or woody notes depending on the variety. Some users report a sense of relaxation when perfuming the environment with it. We repeat: in Spain, it is not intended for human consumption.
A premium resin has an intense and complex aroma, uniform color (golden brown to dark brown), a malleable texture when slightly warmed in the hands, and comes with its certificate of analysis. If it smells damp or has a brittle texture, it is likely oxidized.
It depends on your use. The flower has a more herbal and loose aroma, ideal for infusions. The resin concentrates more active ingredients per gram, retains its aroma better in the long term, and is more practical to store. Many users alternate between both depending on the moment.
